Toes in the Sea - Symbolic Ceremony

THE COUPLE

They met at a salsa lesson and they danced the night away at their Greek wedding in Naxos.

WHERE

They married on the beach - literally with their toes in the water - and their guests looking on from the beach. Alyko was the perfect choice for them - fantastic turquoise waters with a blue and white church overlooking the festivities. Dinner and Dancing was at the garden taverna of Pigi in Ano Potamia. The couple travelled on the bus to the taverna with their guests and made a special stop for a group photo against a traditional Naxian rock tower.

STYLING

Yellow was the theme of their Civil Wedding in Australia so we wove that color in with lemons on the tables. For the Greek theme we used blues and bunting and local dried flowers. Simple and elegant - a crown for the donkey a bouquet and boutinierres - a heart sign for the bus and an absolutely loaded champagne and appetizer table at the Ceremony - perfectly styled in the blue and white theme.

SOURCING & PLANNING

Locally sourced flowers and decor were very important for this bride and groom - and a Greek theme with a donkey entrance and the traditional musicians to accompany the bride - lemons and olive branches brightened the tables at the dinner. Our white lantern lighting system lent an elegant and romantic style to their garden dinner celebration.

FUN & MEMORIES

It was salsa dancing till dawn with everyone having a great time - interspersed of course with Greek favorites and the grooms father lighting a fire and smashing a few plates. A true melding of the French and Greek cultures. The croquembouche cake by Mathiassos bakery brought a touch of the French tradition to the evenings celebrations.
